    Kajal

It's ganesh puja time and I browsed the net for a sukhadi recipe for prasad.

I chose your recipe over several others since it promised sukhadi
using 2 cups of flour to 1 cup of ghee proportion. Most of the other recipes on the internet have 1 cup of flour to 1 cup of ghee or 1 cup of flour to 1 3/4 cup ghee.

    Big disappointment .....

With your proportions, I don't understand how it is possible to get the sludge consistency shown on your cooking stage pictures.

I guess chosing recipes on the net is like chosing contractors project estimates... never go with the ones that promise you want you want with the least, always pick the middle or more.

I hope you have the courtesy to not moderate my comments.

    Better luck next time

    Regards
    Bee

  26. Kajal bahen,

This recipe of yours is going to a lot of my non-Gujarati friends!

    Thank you!

I'll have to say this though, this sukhdi looks 'anemic'!
The sukhdi I have seen, eaten and enjoyed has almost always been brown (dark)! I think it helps to select darker, more natural kind of goLe(gud). It even tastes better that way.

    Also, as "Bee" has commented,
1 cup ghee won't be enough. Please revise the quantity to 2 or 2.25 cups of ghee and 1.5 cups of jaggery.

Besides, some like it a little chewy, some not. Some like it without anything else in it, others like a lot of other ingredients in it.

Appreciate your efforts, the pictures are a big help !

    -Gujjulal
