Special Benefits:
A well-known Harvard study showed that men who regularly ate tomato-based foods had lower rates of prostate cancer. The researchers theorize that lycopene-a powerful antioxidant-is the natural cancer fighting agent in tomatoes. Other studies show that lycopene provides defense against, including other cancers and heart disease. It is known to slow down damage to human cells caused by aging and disease.
The best way to get lycopene is through tomatoes in their processed form-tomato sauce, tomato paste, tomato juice and even ketchup. Lycopene is also found in pink grape fruits and watermelons, but it is most concentrated in tomato paste.

Tomato Ketchup

Tomatoes are actually a type of berry, and were called “LOVE APPLE” in the 16th century. Tomato’s flavor depends more on the variety and how ripe it is than on where it had ripened. Varieties include baby plum, beef-steak, cherry, vine, and yellow cheery.
