Okra with Green Gravy


Sweet memory of this diwali vacation…
After long vacation I post my recipe. I was visited to my uncle’s and brother home in this diwali vacation. I enjoy a one week vacation with all my cosines. When we are separated no one say any one to bye because every one eyes with full of tears. My one cosine brother is study in hostel. He is studying in 8th- standard and living in hostel. One cosine sister is study in vallabhvidhynagar for his bachelor degree. Other cosines are working. All meet after long time in diwali. We all together in diwali vacation because we have only this time have same day holiday so we don’t left the time to live with each other. This one week is very important to all. All parents are complaining when we all together and only talking talking and talking..........Some time we all talking up to 2 pm. But this is sweet memory for all of us. We all are waiting for this one week. We decided we meet at least one week in every six month. Some time we are playing cards together with all elders and enjoy a lot. We see OSO movie again in theater because my one younger cosine brother want to see this film in theater so we all see one more time but not like to separated for 3 hours. Our parents say we all are crazy to live together. We enjoy with lots of fun!!!!
Ingredients:

150gm fresh okra (Lady Finger)
2-tbsp oil,
1\2 tbsp mustard seeds
1\2 tbsp cumin seeds
1\4 asafoetida powder
Salt to taste

Ingredients for green paste:

4 green chilles
1\4 cup roasted peanuts
6-7 gralic pieces
1\2 cup wash and chopped fresh coriander leaves


· Mix all this ingredients and crush into mixer till smooth paste. Keep it aside.


Method:
Step 1: Wash the okra and cut into small round pieces.



Step 2: Heat the oil in pan and add mustard seeds. When seeds are pop up then add cumin seeds and asafoetida powder in it.

Step 3: After that add chopped okra in it and mix well.


Step 4: Cook in low flame with stirring in between for 8 to 10 minutes so that its stickiness is burn well. Step 5: When they become crispy then add green paste and salt in it.

Step 6: Mix well and cook for only one minute.

Step 7: Turn off the flame and serve hot with roti.

Bharwa Bhindi (Bharela Bhinda / Stuffed Okra)

An all-time favourite of Bhindis stuffed with lip-smacking spices.

She was request me give gujarti recipe for stuffed Bhindi…..so Laavanya this is for you my dear…..Enjoy original Gujju dish…So I request to all my friend if you request for gujarti dish and if possible for me than I will always try to complete your wish.

Laavnaya requested two recipes............second recipe I will post after some days my dear……Wait for that Laavanya.:)))

Ingredients:

150 gm fresh bhindi
2-tbsp garlic paste
2-tbsp oil
1-tbsp mustard seeds
1-tbsp cumin seeds



Ingredients for filling:
5-tbsp besan flour
1-tbsp red chilli powder
1\2-tbsp turmeric powder
3-tbsp lemon juice
2-tbsp cumin+coriander powder
2-tbsp sesame seeds
1-tbsp oil
Salt to taste


* Mix all ingredients for filling.

Method:
Step 1: Wash the bhindi and dry with towel. Make long slits on the bhindi.

Step 2: Stuff the bhindi with the besan filling.

Step 3: Arrange the stuffed bhindi in a steamer plate.

Step 4: Steam this stuffed bhindi until they are soft approximately 10 minutes in medium flame.
Step 5: Heat the two tbsp oil in a flat pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When they begin to pop then add garlic paste in it.

Step 6: After that add stuffed bhindi in it gently.
Step 7: Turn the flame law and cook smoothly for 10 minutes so they become crispy.

Step 8: Add reaming filling mater in it. Mix well and cook in law flame.

Step 9: Cover the pan and turn off the flame after one minute. Place it in serving bowl.

Step 10: Serve hot with Roti, Rice and Dal.:)

Note: If you like then add garlic paste in filling material also.

In middle of Rain season this is picture of rain out side my home…..if rain is begin and any body serve this hot dish then I always feel like heaven…..

Next coming is something sweet for Raksha Bandhan. Any body says the name of this sweet dish?

Okra with Potato.

Ingredients:
200gm okra,
200gm potato,
1-tbsp garlic paste,
1-tbspmeric powder,
1-tbsp red chilli powder,
1-tbsp mustard seeds,
1-tbsp cumin seeds,
2-tbsp oil,
Salt to taste.


Method:
Step 1: Heat the oil in thick bottom pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and long cut potatoes in it.Step 2: Cook for 3-4 minutes and after that add long cut okra in it.

Step 3: Stirring it continuously and cook until all stickiness of okra is burn.
Step 4: Then add all remaining masala to it.

Step 5: Mix well and turn of the flame.

Enjoy with roti, rice, kadhi and papad.:)
